I am ashamed to say, my breakup with alcohol took years.
It was a process.
First, it was "Only on weekends", "Only wine", "Only on special occasions", "Only if I am out", "Only a couple of drinks with dinner", "Only with friends", "Only if I am alone..." You get the idea.
Here are a few books that helped me ditch the "wine o'clock" mindset once and for all.
Do you have any favorite books that inspired you to quit drinking?
![]() | Tired of Thinking About Drinking by Belle Roberson Belle Robertson's blog about quitting drinking was the first sober blog I discovered. When I discovered she had a book, I found it just as inspiring as her blog. |
This Naked Mind by Annie Grace I first found Annie's book and then I discovered she has quite an active online presence which has really grown over the years. Annie Grace and her team offer many free resources including email support, a podcast, a blog, 30 day quit drinking challenge, and more. There is also a paid program called The Path. Annie's resources were a huge help in my giving up alcohol for good! This Naked Mind Website | |
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza is not a book about sobriety, but I did find it helpful on my journey. |
